Goals to Achieve the Mission of the School of Business

To achieve our mission, the School is committed to the following goals

  1. Achieve and maintain AACSB accreditation by demonstrating:
    • quality outcomes,
    • assurance of learning, and
    • continuous improvement.
  2. Prepare students who can demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for success, including:
    • written and oral communication skills,
    • ethical and corporate social responsibility,
    • thinking skills,
    • interpersonal skills and appreciation of diversity,
    • knowledge of the business environment, and
    • use of technology in business.
  3. Provide a student-centered learning environment for traditional, non-traditional, full-time, and part-time students characterized by:
    • accessible faculty,
    • smaller classes taught by faculty members (not teaching assistants),
    • flexible delivery of course offerings (on-campus, online, or hybrid; day and evening),
    • personalized academic and career advisement, and
    • student-centered teaching methods (active, collaborative, and problem-based).
  4. Recruit and retain a diverse and qualified faculty by developing and maintaining:
    • a mission-based faculty resource and recruitment plan,
    • a systematic orientation process for new faculty,
    • a rigorous faculty performance evaluation system, and
    • adequate resources for faculty development.
  5. Be responsive to the changing needs of the employers of our graduates based on:
    • surveys of alumni and employers,
    • input from our Business Advisory Board,
    • memberships in professional societies and associations, and
    • research partnerships with the business community.
