Award Criteria


Wall Street Journal Award

Awarded to the most outstanding senior in the School of Business. A plaque or certificate will be presented at awards day.

Criteria

  • Minimum of 45 hours at CSU
  • Graduation during current academic year (summer, fall, or spring)
  • Overall GPA of 3.8 or better
  • Service and Leadership
    • Club participation / other School-related activities (level of participation will be considered)
    • Other University activities
    • Other professional activities (including work experience)

Outstanding Graduate of the Year in Accounting, General Business, Management and Marketing

Given to the top graduating senior in each Clayton State University School of Business major for each academic year. The Faculty will select the awardees from students graduating in the Fall and the Spring. A plaque or certificate will be presented at Honors convocation.

Criteria

  • Minimum of 30 hours of upper-division coursework at CSU
  • Graduation during current academic year (summer, fall, or spring)
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or better, 3.5 or better in the upper-division major courses
  • Service and Leadership
    • Club participation / other School-related activities (level of participation will be considered)
    • Other University activities
    • Other professional activities (including work experience)

Service and Leadership Awards in Accounting, General Business, Management and Marketing

Awarded to the student demonstrating the highest level of leadership within the School of Business and the University for the academic year under consideration. A plaque or certificate will be presented at awards day.

Criteria

  • Minimum of 30 hours at CSU, junior standing, and admission to the School of Business
  • Completion of at least one Service or Leadership activity:
    • Participation in one of the five clubs/other School-related activities (level of participation will be considered)
    • Other University activities
    • Other professional activities (including work experience)
  • Overall GPA of 2.75 or better

Georgia Society of CPA's Academic Excellence Award

Awarded to an Accounting student. A plaque or certificate will be presented at awards day.

Criteria

  • Must be a junior or senior Accounting major.
  • Must have taken upper level Accounting courses.
  • Selected by accounting faculty.

Honor Society in Business

Beta Gamma Sigma

Beta Gamma Sigma is a National Business Honor Fraternity. Certificate will be presented at an annual induction ceremony.

Criteria

  • Must be in the top 7% of juniors and the top 10% of seniors.
  • Must have been admitted to the School of Business.
  • Must have 30 hours at Clayton State University with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Nominees will be selected by the Advisor and be voted on by the faculty.

If there are no suitable candidates, the award may not be given.
