Attend a workshop on resume writing, interview techniques and/or networking. This information may be useful should you decide to apply for an internship and/or coop experience.
Speaking of Internships, your sophomore is the ideal time to participate in one. An Internship can help you gain professional work related experiences and give you marketable skills to place on your resume. Internship information is available through Career Services which is located in room 223 of the Student Center.
Consider participating in a study abroad program. This once in a life-time opportunity will give you work related experiences that you won’t necessarily get in a traditional classroom setting. Subscribe to a professional business newspaper, journal and/or list serve.
Join and actively participate in one of the business related student organizations at Clayton State University including the Accounting Club or the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM).
Continue developing your business network by introducing yourself to faculty and staff in the School of Business, interviewing professionals in the field, and making connections with your colleagues. You never know, the person sitting next to you in class could be your future business partner.
Take some time to think about what is important to you in the world of work (i.e. where do you want to live? what type of an environment do you want to work in? What kind of hours do you want to keep? What kind of pay do you expect? Do your dreams and passion match your major?
