Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who are MBA students?
The Clayton State MBA program is designed to prepare students for professional management careers by increasing their communication skills, broadening their appreciation of diverse cultures, improving their decision making, and reinforcing their ability to apply knowledge and skills in problem solving. Students also will develop a better understanding of the importance of ethical business behavior and corporate social responsibility.
Why choose the Clayton State Supply Chain Management MBA program?
The MBA’s program concentration in logistics/supply chain management is a natural extension of Clayton State’s successful concentration in logistics/supply chain management in its BBA program. This concentration also is a direct response to the report to the Board of Regents Office of Economic Development by Georgia Tech in June 2005. This report indicated that 263,000 workers were currently in core logistics industries throughout Georgia and that number would increase to nearly 500,000 by 2012. This report also stated that logistics/supply chain management is a solid strategic industry for Georgia’s economic development focus. The report’s key recommendation was that Georgia’s higher education institutions strengthen business offerings in logistics and supply chain management. Clayton State’s MBA program will help Georgia meet the forecasted demand of 1,100 new workers annually in core logistics occupations and 12,170 new workers annually in logistics related occupations through 2012.
How often will classes meet?
The program generally will be offered every other weekend and will utilize online components to increase students’ ability to use technology and to help students use their time most effectively.
How long does the MBA program take to complete?
The MBA program is a lock-step cohort program that will take 18 months to complete and is designed for busy executives whose time is already at a premium. The expectation is that classes will meet every other weekend, including during the summer, and that there will be a five-day May-mester course.
What are the admissions requirements “really” like?
